KYREIA & KLEIOS

Let their identities echo across eternity, and let all future heroes of this sacred world look to them as aspiration: the Heroes of All Ages, and the Sword and Dagger of the Court.

Kyreia and Kleios ascended as a pair of gods, though the truth of their existence remains in a strange limbo. They are an enigmatic duo, their origins are unknown, as is the verity of their identities. However, what they stand for is something that all warriors, especially the Ascended, understand: sacrifice and loyalty. Kyreia and Kleios embody the identity of the Ascended, from the sources of their purpose to the absolute height of their aspirations.

Kyreia and Kleios are the penultimate examples of heroism— what it means to be a hero, whether to yourself or those around you.

However, in an Auria without Spirit Beasts, the purpose of the Ascended are called with every passing day. And with it, the purposes of Kyreia and Kleios.

Appearance. Kyreia takes the appearance of a beautiful, fair-skinned woman with her long, black hair pulled together in an elaborate braid that falls down her back. Her shimmer with the color of the brightest pools of jade. Kleios frequently appears as an athletic human male with short, shock-white hair and blue eyes that contain the swirling chaos of a storm within them.

Kyreia and Kleios’ thrones are THE ASCENDED, SACRIFICE, LOYALTY, and HEROES.

THE ASCENDED: The Two Heroes oversee all Ascended, and are their patron deity, presiding over each and every Ascended. They are the strifes and successes of the Ascended; they are the hard won lessons learned on the long road that every Ascended must walk. The Two Heroes are grafted into the lives of all Ascended, and in some way— however small or large— shape the future of the Ascended.

SACRIFICE: To be an Ascended is to know sacrifice. The expectations and the responsibilities thrust upon them are immense, and chief among those expectations is the virtue of sacrifice. Their existence is a lesson in this virtue, as they, at one point, were required to sacrifice many beliefs and ideals in order to serve as an Ascended.

LOYALTY: Without loyalty, an Ascended has no direction. It is the penultimate goal of an Ascended to know the truth of where their loyalty lies, to themselves, their friends and allies, their nation and its people, or to Auria at large.

HEROES: As the Twin Heroes, Kyreia & Kleios are the patron gods of all heroic figures— most commonly, adventurers. They grant these heroes small blessings or gifts across their adventures, often being the reason for their remarkable resilience, and suspicious amount of treasures. 

Introducing Kyreia & Kleios

Heroic Task. The party is quite literally visited by the Twin Gods, often disguised as mortals, and given a heroic task such as slaying a monster, or acquiring a relic or artifact. Completion of the task earns their blessing, whereas failing the task earns their ire.
