As the First Primordial, Auril’s existence predates even Kophos by eons. In the misted beginnings of Ved— before Auria was even a fragment of an ambition— Auril and his other primordials existed. During this time, Auril went by a different name and identity: Rila. In her youth, Rila waged war against the Nine, dooming the lives of trillions, all for the sake of freeing them from the tyranny of the Nine.
However, Rila was eventually defeated, surrendering her identity and subjecting herself to torture at the hands of Kophos. Rila was vaulted away, and only Auril remained.
Now, Auril acts as a semi-benevolent force on Auria with the help of his wife, Sadira, and the rest of the Forgotten. His ambitions and motivations are still largely unknown, but it is clear that he treasures Auria and its people, and is willing to ignore even the most sacred of laws and creeds to protect them.
Appearance. Auril’s typical appearance is that of a tall, gray-skinned humanoid with long silver antlers that spike up from the top of his forehead. He keeps his medium-length black hair in a loose half-up, half-down style. He wears an intricately handmade set of black robes, at his side is a wicked black mace known as Iconoclasm, and curling out from his tailbone is a long and thick black tail.
Auril’s domains are THE ABYSS, TIDES & WATER, FORESIGHT & PROPHECY.
THE ABYSS: An amorphous space between spaces, where all of Auria is seemingly accessible. Protected by Auril himself and Koronoch, the Leviathan, the Abyss is an unknown and uncharted segment of Auria.
TIDES & WATER: Auril’s control over these thrones are merely a formality. He does not hold particular pride over them, but he maintains them for Koronoch, the Leviathan.
FORESIGHT & PROPHECY: Capable of glimpsing possible and impossible futures, Auril sifts through time to ensure his actions result in the most efficient fulfilling of his goals and the protection of Auria. The gift of prophecy is one he rarely shares with mortals, but those who are particularly gifted diviners, may be cleaved with the oracular power of Auril.
Quest Giver. Auril introduces himself to the player characters at the end of one quest or the beginning of another and hints to the players of the existence of a powerful artifact that may help in their overarching goals.
Benevolent Vision. Auril shares a prophetic vision with a player character, hinting at a grim future or a hopeful outcome; perhaps these visions occur multiple times.
Powerful Visitor. Auril is merely a passerby, but should the player characters treat him well, he bestows a brief blessing upon them.
