It is said that she taught us empathy and peace, instilling it within our very souls. She forged the paths to redemption and illuminated them.
The silent goddess, Rhene stands as the embodiment of peace. She is the guiding hand for those who walk the long and arduous path to redemption. She patiently stands in a silent vigil over Auria, supporting those who endeavor to work towards the ultimate goal of Rhene: peace.
Rhene understands the struggle of redemption. It is a difficult, sacrificial act with no external reward. Only the most driven can journey to find redemption, and only a few of them will succeed. Rhene silently supports these warriors, delivering peaceful visions of their redemption, and bringing them comfort with even just the utterance of her name.
Appearance. To her faithful and in her visions, Rhene appears as a tall and lithe woman with little facial features. She wears a thin, cool blue veil that sits well with a large green shawl. A single, curved horn protrudes out from beneath the veil.
Rhene’s thrones are SILENCE, PEACE & PATIENCE, and REDEMPTION.
SILENCE: The silence that Rhene exists within is not a silence of unease or discomfort. It is the silence of solace, of calm, of treasured company.
PEACE & PATIENCE: The driving force of Rhene, the ideal that spurs her into action. She dissolves conflicts with ease, resolving issues between gods and mortals alike; yet she knows that these things take time and constant effort. To gain peace, one must exist with patience. Her followers treasure this aspect of her, and constantly champion them as key virtues.
REDEMPTION: The word itself originating from Rhene’s name, redemption is as much part of her identity as peace and patience.
Redemption. Also introduces Heirax— a paladin close to the party has broken their oath; they are hunted by the Oathkeepers, but Rhene tasks the party with helping the paladin redeem their oath once again.
The Empath. This plot hook may require a trigger warning. A particularly frustrating friend of the party invites them out, and Rhene warns the player character closest to the friend that their friend desperately needs their help for the evening.
“Ease the burdens of others, guide them to their own peace.”
“Allow the irredeemable a chance at redemption. A person is better than the worst thing they have ever done.”
“Have patience, for it is your greatest virtue.”
